• Shopify store URL, store ID, merchant contact information, and billing details;
• Product catalog data (names, descriptions, prices, images, SKUs, and tags);
• Payment details (processed securely through Shopify’s billing or third-party payment gateways—BuyWhy does not store credit card data);
• Aggregate or segmented data about shopper behaviour on your PDPs (e.g., which variant/tab was selected, clicks, time spent, add-to-cart actions) as part of conversion analytics.

b. Automatically Collected Information

When you visit our website or use the App, we automatically collect certain information such as:

• IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers;
• Date/time of visit, referring URLs, pages viewed, and time spent on pages;
• Log data for diagnostics, analytics, and performance monitoring.

All transactions are processed through Shopify’s billing system or authorized payment gateway providers. BuyWhy does not store or process any credit card information. Payment providers are solely responsible for maintaining security and PCI-DSS compliance.

• Merchant and store data are retained only as long as necessary to provide the Services.
• Upon app uninstallation or account deletion, related data will be deleted unless required by law.
• Upon user or law-enforcement request, data will be deleted within 14 days.
• Inactive accounts may be purged after 90–120 days.

6. Security Measures

We employ administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including:

• Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption;
• Limited-access networks;
• Regular malware scanning and vulnerability testing.

While we strive for full security, no method of electronic storage is entirely foolproof.

15. Shopify App-Store Notice

BuyWhy handles merchant/store data solely to provide and enhance App functionality in compliance with Shopify’s requirements, including not using merchant data for unrelated purposes. We will provide merchants full transparency about what data the App collects and how it’s used. Merchants will have control over their data (install/uninstall) and we will delete after uninstallation. We never sell merchant or shopper data and delete store data after uninstallation as required by Shopify’s Partner Program Agreement and Data Processing Addendum.
